1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Infinity-Forum ("IF", "we", "us"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
Important: These terms are subject to change. We will notify users of significant changes via the platform.
2. User Eligibility
To use Infinity-Forum, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate account information, when the need for accuracy is specified.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law
3. Revenue Distribution & Rewards System
How Rewards Work
Infinity-Forum operates a unique revenue-sharing model:
- Merit-Based Distribution: Surplus revenue is distributed to users based on contribution points
- Contribution Points: Earned by receiving stars from other users for quality content and collaboration
- Source Available Algorithm: Our distribution algorithms are transparent and collaboratively developed.
Disclaimer:
- Reward algorithms may change to improve fairness and platform sustainability
- IF is not responsible for compensating users for any activity, and we can/will only share revenue with you if you have your stripe account setup through profile settings. The percentage of revenue shared is up to company discretion.
- We are not responsible for any lost work or data, including source attribution or misattribution. The website is currently in the testing phase so such mistakes may happen as we update the algorithm, although we will put forth our best efforts to make changes backwards-compatible. You agree not to hold us liable.
- No guarantee of specific reward amounts
- The website is currently in Alpha, issues may occur. You agree not to hold us liable for any issues that occur as a result of changes to the site.
- Because the website is currently in alpha, users deleting teams or posts may cause lost work for others. In the future, deletions will not affect associated work by others but it is important to backup work while the site is in alpha.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
Your Content Ownership
You retain ownership of all original content you create and post on Infinity-Forum.
License to IF and Other Users
By posting content, you grant IF and other users a limited license to:
- Use your work within the IF system with proper attribution (does not include locked or paid-for content)
- Build upon and reference your work using our built-in citation system
- Collaborate and create derivative works within the platform
External Use & Marketplace
For use outside IF or in the IF Marketplace:
- Those who wish to use the works externally must follow the IFCS license described in later sections.
- Standard fair use practices apply for non-commercial sharing
Infinity-Forum use
For use by our company (Infinity Forum)
- You grant us a license to use any public content you post to provide our services and improve our products.
Content Licensing
Most content publicly posted to Infinity-Forum (except closed team content, locked or paid content) is released under the Infinity Forum Compensated Source License (IFCS License), unless its license specifies otherwise. Either way, you are allowed to use content at least on IF as long as it is properly cited using our attribution system.
IFCS License Terms
IFCS has different rules for Commercial and Non-Commercial (no revenue gained) use and modification:
Note on License Updates: IF reserves the right to update specific details of the IFCS License — such as fee percentages, payment timelines, and procedural rules — without changing its core principles (attribution, compensated commercial use, and copyleft). The version of the license in effect at the time you entered into a deal or began using content governs that use, unless you agree to updated terms. We will provide notice of any material changes per Section 13.
Non-Commercial Use
The work can be used and modified for Non-Commercial use as long as the following stipulations are met. Non-Commercial use is intended to be through the website. External use requires these rules.
- The work is labeled as a Repository.
- If not from a repository, permission is needed from every contributor by using the Deals feature (Coming soon).
- This license, or a link to it, is included with the work
- All usage and derivative works of IFCS content are also licensed under IFCS
- A link to the utilized posts is included in the work.
Commercial Use
IFCS content can be modified or used commercially with permission under the same license, provided the licensee:
- Pays at least 5% of all revenue derived from use of the licensed work to Infinity Forum on a quarterly basis, or comes to some other arrangement with Infinity Forum
- To get permission, click 'Deal' in the options of a post. If this option is not available, it means we are not yet offering permission through that system. Contact us at admin@infinity-forum.org instead.
- Each deal may come with its own additional terms
- Provides a link to the utilized posts.
- Note: We share this revenue with all contributors, who can also set minimum prices for products using their work which licensees must obey in order to control competition. Minimum prices do not apply to Websites or apps (excluding games).
- Minimum prices only apply to modules, not repositories or code. If a repository uses a non-code module such as an image that has a minimum price, permission is not granted to use the parts of the repository that rely on it unless it is specified as an additional module when requesting permission. It is the requestors responsibility to verify that repositories dont contain minimum priced modules before using them, although in the future checks will be automatic.
- Repositories (including the IF source code) have the same rules but don't require permission first. We are still working on the online payment portal; so for now users can use the code if they agree to check these terms at least every 3 months for payment options and to begin paying once systems are available.
- All derivative works of IFCS content are also licensed under IFCS if you decide to make your code public.
- Derivatives include AI and non-AI rewrties that substantially replicate function structure/sequence/organization (SSO).
Commercial Licensing Fee Structure:
- Licensees must pay 5% from any product they used licensed works to create
- They do not need to pay an additional 5% for each number of licensed works they used, as long as they are all either modules or repositories (which they are will be specified in the deal)
- If using licensed works that are both modules and repositories, the licensee must pay an 8% fee.
- Deals are made based on products and can include any number of licensed works for the same price.
- Licensees may also choose to exclusively sell their product in the IF Marketplace instead of paying the fee. This still requires permission.
IFRCS License (Restricted)
Some posts on the website are upgraded to the Infinity Forum Restricted Compensated Source License (IFRCS License). Such content has the same non-commercial rules as IFCS but in general are not available for commercial use unless the offer is substantial.
Repository Contributions
By contributing code or other content to any repository hosted on Infinity-Forum (including pushing commits, submitting changes, or otherwise adding to a repository), you agree that:
- Your contribution is licensed under the IFCS License (or the IFRCS License, if the repository specifies it)
- You have the legal right to contribute the work under that license
- Your contribution does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
- IF and other contributors may use, build upon, and distribute your contribution under the terms of the applicable license
This serves as your Contributor License Agreement (CLA) for all repositories on Infinity-Forum. No separate CLA signature is required.
Derivative Works Copyright Registration
Important: For any work you post which the platform finds to contain any direct content from another post on the site with different authors (a derivative work), you grant IF the exclusive right to register that work for copyright under the platform's name, acting as the Poster's legal representative and assignee. You also void your right to license the work.
User Content License
You grant IF a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use your content for:
- Platform operation and service provision
- Website improvement (including design)
- Marketing purposes
- Copyrighting Joint Works (works that use a source from the platform made by other users) and/or works that are derivative of other content posted on IF under our name for the purposes of paying contributors (we will not enforce the copyright against contributors). You hereby quitclaim to IF any and all interests in Joint and Derivative Works created on the site, specifically for the purpose of centralized licensing and enforcement.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have necessary rights to your submitted content
- Your content does not infringe third-party rights
- Your content complies with applicable laws
Repository and Module (post) Contributions
IF may patent or copyright original contributions if your permission is given. For derivative or collective works, we may file for patent or copyright protection without contributor permission.
- Contributor retains ownership of their individual Contribution. However, Contributor acknowledges that the selection, coordination, arrangement, and functional interaction of multiple Contributions within the Platform (the 'Collective Orchestration') may constitute a separate invention owned exclusively by the Platform.
- For the sole purpose of patenting 'Collective Orchestrations,' Contributor hereby grants the Platform a Limited Power of Attorney to execute any documents (such as declarations or assignments of joint interest) required by a patent office, provided the Contributor is not named as the sole inventor and the patent is directed at the system-level integration.
This serves as your Contributor License Agreement (CLA) for all repositories on Infinity-Forum. No separate CLA signature is required.
5. AI Licensing
IF's Authority to License Content for AI
By posting content on Infinity-Forum, you authorize IF to negotiate and enter into AI licensing agreements on your behalf. This means IF may grant AI companies and researchers permission to use platform content — including yours — for AI-related purposes, subject to the terms below. Revenue from such agreements will be shared with eligible contributors through the standard rewards system.
Requirements for AI Training Use
Any use of IF content for AI training must meet the following conditions:
- Transformative, not duplicative: AI training use must be transformative in nature. Licensees may not use IF content in ways that simply reproduce or replicate it, including verbatim memorization or near-identical output generation.
- Permission required: No AI company or researcher may train on IF content without an explicit license granted by IF. Scraping or using content without such a license is a violation of these terms and applicable law.
- Attribution: Licensees must acknowledge IF as a source of training data in their model documentation where reasonably practicable.
Indemnification by AI Licensees
Required indemnification: Any company or individual that trains AI models on IF content agrees, as a condition of their license, to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless both Infinity-Forum and its users (including content contributors) against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising from copyright infringement or other intellectual property claims resulting from AI models trained on IF content. This obligation survives termination of any license agreement.
User Opt-Out
You may opt out of AI licensing at any time through your account settings. However, please note:
Important: Users who opt out of AI licensing are ineligible for payouts from the IF rewards system. AI licensing revenue is a component of the surplus revenue distributed to contributors, and opting out removes you from that pool. Opting out does not retroactively affect any prior licensing agreements already entered into by IF on your behalf, but your content will be excluded from future AI licensing deals from the date of opt-out.
6. Content Policy & Prohibited Conduct
Content Standards
Content submitted to IF should be:
- Constructive and aimed at helping others

Moderation
Infinity Forum and/or moderators may add citations to your work in accordance to the above.

Content Disclaimer
User-submitted content does not reflect IF's views or beliefs. Our goal is to categorize and organize information in ways that maximally benefit our mission of helping others.
7. Deals
Policy for the "Deals" Feature
Infinity Forum hosts a feature called "Deals" where users can make deals with the contributors of a passage for usage off site and in the Infinity Forum Marketplace. By using this site you agree:
- Not to sue or hold liable Infinity Forum or passage contributors if your previous deal becomes invalid due to new contributors being recognized.
- To maintain responsibility for your usage of passages off the site and in the Infinity Forum Marketplace and to stop all activity if you become aware of your deal becoming invalid.
- Not to sue or hold liable creators of deals for using your work off the site or in the Infinity Forum Marketplace so long as they had a deal that was considered valid at the time of using.
- The responsibility for the validity of a deal lies with the author of the passage that accepts the deal, as it is their responsibility to add all contributors neccesary for the development of the passage. If you as a deal creator are sued for acting on the terms of a valid deal, you may take legal recourse against the passage author.
8. Marketplace Terms
